Heartfelt story that will make you question a lot of things about this world

I must admit to having some problems understanding the background information that the authors provided about the conflict in Swat, some of the facts in the first two parts of the book were a little jumbled up but the next parts were easier to understand.

Underneath it all, the message and feelings of the author were the same and those feelings were easy to understand and to sympathize with. I found myself wondering a lot about humanity, what makes us act like that, what makes us stand up for what is right and truly how many of us are willing to make that sacrifice.

I was an admirer of Malala before, just by watching Her speeches on YouTube but after reading this book I have that much more respect for her.

A truly illuminating book that made me google facts and people like no other and made me that much in tune with the world and the injustices that reside in him.

I chose to read ‘I Am Malala” written by Malala Yousafzai. I chose to read this book because when the event happened with Malala, I was very interested and stayed in the loop with the news and internet. I am happy I chose this book because I got to look into Malala’s life, and mind. After being shot by the Taliban, Malala’s life changed significantly. One thing that didn’t change though was her love for education. Despite the fact that that was the reason for the attack against her, Malala’s life revolves around learning and her love for school. To the world, she is a hero. To Malala, she did exactly what she needed to fight for her right to learn. If you area a lover of courage, heroism, and intelligence, I highly recommend this beautiful story.
The way that Malala wrote this book caught my attention because it was unlike anything I have read before. Nothing was hidden and everything she said was in great detail. After reading every experience she had been through, whether it was a tragedy or an accomplishment, I gained a new perspective of life. “I’m still me, Malala. The important thing is God has given me my life.” (Yousafzai 307) Those two sentences show so much meaning. After being shot, having to leave everything she has ever known, and after all the injuries this caused, she was just happy to be alive. Malala was not crying or upset, she was grateful to have survived. I believe that it is very hard to not be interested in this book. Once I began reading I could not stop turning the pages. This book will teach adults and both children to look at life a different way, and to appreciate all you have.
I could not relate to any of the experiences that Malala has been through. I am extremely grateful for that, though. Her life in Pakistan is the complete opposite of the lives we live here in America. Malala had to wake up every day wondering if she would go to sleep that night with a dead father, or an alive mother. She had to hide her education from others, in fear that she will be killed or hurt. These situations are what made Malala a strong, bold person. Her fight for education led to her gaining the respect of others, along with the support of her country and the world. I hope to one day be as strong of a person as Malala is. It is inspiring and truly amazing. Malala did not use many techniques while writing this book, but her honestly was enough to picture things. She was very descriptive and did not let hide a detail. Malala told us in her story, “As I found with my ear, no one knows how much power they have in their each and every organ until they lose one” (Yousafzai 301) As I said before, her honestly helped you imagine these situations she was faced with, while really helped understand this story,
The plot was chronological. Malala began with telling about her everyday life, and then explains how she got shot. She then explains how everything changed after, and the difference in her life that the attack made. It was easy for this book to hold my attention. In the beginning, it was somewhat boring because she didn’t share many details about her life. Once you gained a background on Malala and her life in Pakistan, it helped understand the book more. For example, Malala wrote, “I was a girl in a land where rifles are fired in celebration of a son, while daughters are hidden away behind a curtain.” (Yousafzai 27). This quote made me realize that from the start girls are treated differently where she was born, so her fight for education stood out to most. Her bravery had taught me that you should stand up for what you believe in.
Overall, Malala’s story is one that should be read by everyone- whether you agree with her views on education or not, she truly will inspire you. This book if not for a specific age group, because it can teach every person a lesson about life. Malala is an outstanding person, and people should strive to have the characteristics that she holds. It was an amazing story.

This book was OK

I found the book very interesting, it was incredibly factual. The book would have been better if it wouldn't stop the "action," to give you exposition on Malala's home country. In the beginning of the book it was fine, but as you got further into it the more frequent it became and this pushed the book away in my mind. I enjoyed Malala's story but i would have preferred not to receive a history lesson in every chapter. Aside from that, Malala told her life story in a way that made you feel the same way she did towards everything that happened to her. It had plenty of great descriptions and lots of imagery i enjoyed that. I sympathized with Malala completely about everything she fought for, she never gave up fighting against the Taliban and anyone who stood in her way she always fought agaisnt the world.i would recommend the book as long as you don't mind too much background information, but if you dont enjoy that kind of stuff avoid this book try a different one.

About the Author
Over the past 17 years, Terrence Masson has served the film and computer graphics community with inspiring production leadership, innovative creative techniques and technical problem solving. After earning his BFA (Graphic Design and Art History) MA (Computer Animation) Terrence spent his early years in New York and Boston in graphic design, commercial flying logos, large format and interactive projects; specializing in camera and lighting. Since founding his own consulting company Digital Fauxtography Inc. in 1994 Terrence has built and led teams ranging in size from six to sixty. Major studio collaborations have included founding positions at The Trumbull Company (1992), Digital Domain (1993) and Warner Brothers (1994), consulting to Sony Pictures Imageworks (1995) and Dreamworks (2003) and two tours at Industrial Light + Magic (1991 and 1996-2000). Terrence also single-handily created the original CG animation and rendering techniques to launch South Park the television series in 1996. As an independent VFX Supervisor and Senior Technical Director he has contributed to over 20 major film projects including Fantastic Four, Hook, True Lies, The Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition, Spawn, Batman Forever, Small Soldiers and Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace. Large format projects include Luxor for Doug Trumbull and Mars Odyssey for Simex. His many national commercial projects include the original Bud Frogs (1995) for Digital Domain and the award winning Dodge Molecule for ILM-Commercials. Terrence has also produced and directed real-time hardware graphics for major titles such as Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon for Universal Interactive, SimCity4 for Maxis/EA and Batman: Dark Tomorrow for Kemco/Japan. This is a an excellent resource book.
Not only are the computer acronyms explained, they are accompanied with a little history of the term and references to who and why uses the products.
Also many popular software titles are referred to, which is great for deciding what software to use to meet my goals.

I was disappointed after reading all the 5 star reviews of this book that it is very basic. My Honors students would fly through this material and complain about it being "busy work". Additionally, I was mortified when I got to the "Urinary Track" lab. It's urinary tract. I am disappointed by the lack of editing of this material by the NSTA. No one noticed this repeated error? Overall, definitely not worth the $25. I will try to find a way to use it just to get my money's worth.

Fun Way for Students to Learn Anatomy and Physiology!

I was looking for something different for my high school health students. Most of my 11th and 12th graders are already in my Anatomy and Physiology class and our regular health textbook begins with basic Anatomy and Physiology. This text seemed like a really fun way to teach my students A&P without them getting bored. CAUTION: what I wished I had known before ordering!!!! The section on HIV has students running around the classroom with cups of egg white exchanging "fluids"(SERIOUSLY!) to replicate unprotected sex with multiple partners! I think I can teach my students that without such a gross activity! It does make a point, but YUK. I teach in a Christian school and while I will teach them all about HIV and how you can get it, I don't think we need to do that activity! That said, the rest of the book is delightful and fun! The students play the part of medical students and then graduate to "Doctors" after researching some diseases and conditions. There are fun labs and surgery at the end! I highly recommend this book with caution as mentioned above!

A masterful and highly original achievement

This is one of the most insightful books I've ever read, and it was instrumental in planning my master's thesis. I cannot possibly recommend this book, or any of Mr. Bercovitch's books, highly enough. It is also rare to read a work on this subject matter that does not have obvious political bias or an agenda.

Outstanding Sequel to Buck Flogging's Best Book to Date. Beware, Internet Entrepreneur is Hard Work.

Okay, I heaped lots of praise on the first book in this series, written by a sharp, sarcastic, mule-skinner-mouth writer who really knows what the @&$@ he speaks about. As I stated in my review, the first book was Buck Flogging at his best. Intelligent, witty, humorous and inspiring. So, how did he do with the second book?

I want to say I hated it, but that would mislead readers. Flogging' writing, insight, humor all are in superb form in this booklet. And, Matt a stone does a perfect narration, capturing the essence of the author (possibly because Stone is Flogging?). So, why do I want to say I hated it?

Because the writer did not gloss over the mundane details and hard work, especially the detailed research and analysis that are absolutely mandatory if you intend to succeed with an online business.

The detailed explanation is probably the best explanation that any internet business entrepreneur is ever likely to stumble across.

If you have not yet read the first book, you need to get it (it's free) and read it before reading this one. Don't be offended by his language, though, as he utilizes it to keep you tuned in for the less entertaining details.

Then again, his name suggests he is not your mild-mannered goody two shoes Ivy League professor.

Great Book if You Want to Build a Disaster of a Business

The author is consistent with his approach to this book as he was with book 1 of his Quit Your Job series: there is little meat or substance to the book and, after having founded and developed several successful startups for over 20 years I found it to be a lot of fluff.

Similar to the first book, there’s a lot of high level talk of being able to quit your job and work from home, but a lot of the examples detailed creating mailing lists for spamming people are trying to hook them into buying lots of “Secret” lists. Other examples are at the 50,000 foot level that might be great for a cocktail party discussion with no substance to the conversations – it would be refreshing, as an example, to have the author talk about substance and those situations where people can really learn.

To sum it up, the author is trying to sell you a method of doing “quick hit” money grabs in the dime to fifty cent range based on selling people worthless information. That might be nice to some if your goal in life is to grab a hundred bucks here and there, but it is a business killer if you are trying to develop and create a sustaining business with long-term, repeat customers.

The author is consistent with his writing style as the language and writing style is very simplistic and liberally laced with profanities and references to male and female anatomy.

I’m all for relaying valid tips and examples of what has worked and not worked in an effort to empower people to strike out on their own. If I were you, I would stick with one of those and avoid this one: think of the money you saved as more money earned as you contemplate quitting your job and starting out on your own.

I picked this book up for free, which added one star to my review if I could have rated this a zero, vs. its regular price of whatever he may be deciding to charge - free or not, I would give this one a wide pass.

I've been in internet marketing for years and recently became burnt out and discouraged. The QuitN6 books have given me new enthusiasm to try something new. Love it. Oh, and if you're hung up on a few cuss words, then you're going to miss out on some very good advice, and lighten up.
